Awesome Art! — A Reggio Emilia-Inspired Art Program with Allison Lash
www.AwesomeArtAustin.com
At Awesome Art!, we believe that every child is an artist. In our small, nurturing classes led by artist, educator, and MW alumni mom Allison Lash (she/her), students receive individualized, digital-free instruction that fosters self-expression, reflection, and creative problem solving.
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, our open-ended, hands-on art activities prioritize exploration over perfection. Children are encouraged to think and work like artists while building self-confidence, community, and lasting friendships.
Each month, we introduce new cross-curricular themes that integrate math, science, and literacy through the arts. Students will engage in meaningful process-based art-making, including:
-
Drawing & painting
-
Sculpture (including kiln-fired clay)
-
Textile arts
-
Bookmaking & printmaking
-
And more — all using high-quality art materials
We value the creative process over the final product and tailor activities to meet each child where they are. With a strong focus on social-emotional learning (SEL), our program encourages collaboration, reflection, and joyful discovery.
