Camps & After School Art
A Reggio Emilia-Inspired Art Program
In our small, nurturing classes students will receive individualized, digital-free guidance that
fosters self-expression, reflection, and creative problem solving. Inspired by the Reggio
Emilia approach, our open-ended, hands-on art activities prioritize exploration over
perfection. Children are encouraged to think and work like artists while building self-
confidence, community, and lasting friendships.
Each month, Allison will introduce new cross-curricular themes that integrate math,
science, social studies and literacy through the arts. Students will engage in
meaningful process-based art-making, including:
-
Drawing, painting & collage
-
Sculpture (including beading & kiln-fired clay)
-
Textile arts (including sewing, natural dyeing & weaving)
-
Bookmaking & printmaking
And more — all using high-quality art materials
The creative process is valued over the final product and activities are tailored to meet
each child where they are. With a strong focus on social-emotional learning (SEL), this
program encourages collaboration, reflection, and joyful discovery.
Photography - join us while we explore the history of photography beginning with creating non-silver alternative photo prints, then we'll learn about the basics of digital photography. We'll practice creating compositions, playing with scale and varying contrasts, exploring depth of field and lighting, experiment with selective colors, perspective, storytelling, cropping and more.
